Help & Tips > Making high intensity exercise easier

Making high intensity exercise easierI'd like to share with you something that I have started doing during my cardio workouts that makes doing me exercise easier. I've been using certain affirmation statements during the last three minutes of my workouts.
I do the same 17-minute cadio trainings that are outlined in Body Transform. If you are doing the program, you will know what I mean. We change intensity of effort (running, cycling, etc) every minute. And our final three minutes of exercise are certainly intense and quite demanding. I'll try anything that makes this exercise easier to do!
I've found these affirmation statements really beneficial to help me get through each minute as best I can. And I wonder if anyone else has ever done the same thing! I find the last few minutes of the trainings very demanding. And that's ok – I'm there in the last few minutes to really push myself and see what I've got. I enjoy the effort, and at the same time it is demanding and I have to keep focused on moving forward I really don't want to stop! I find that repeating a positive affirmation statement over in my mind keeps me positive and keeps me moving. And in some ways, it blocks out any other thoughts I might have about the temporary discomfort, or wanting to slow down. It really does make the exercise easier to do. Here's what I repeat to myself during the last few minutes of my cardio to make the exercise easier. (This might only make sense to those who know the training of the Body Transform Fitness Programme. This training style is part of the total effective exercise programme. You could employ it for the last 3 minutes of any cardio that you do – as long as it's intense!) Grade 2: winners finish, and finishers win Grade 1: I can, so I must. I must, therefore I can Grade Z: strength, pride, faith, focus, patience I would love to hear if you have done the same sort of thing. Or maybe try it next time you do your cardio training. Like me, you might find it helps make the last few minutes of exercise a little easier.
